DIY Valentine’s Cards

Last year I did a blog about making Valentines card’s yourself and they were such a fun project I decided to do it again. I know it is a bit early, but this gives you plenty of time to work on it if you decide you want to make your own too!

Store bought cards can be fun, but these are really so simple and inexpensive that I say why not make it a bit more personal.
I made a tie for Jackson, and a bow tie for Owen. I was planning of just doing some cute little bows that matched for Isabel, but my sister Kristen told me I should make her some suspenders and a bow tie too…BEST idea ever! Who says bow ties and suspenders are just for boys! I quickly got to work.
I decided this year to make my kids some fun Valentine’s day gear.

Sometimes my kids enjoy taking pictures, most of the time they don’t. I try to always keep it light and just take candid pictures when I can. Sometimes however I really want some cute posed pictures, so I try to make sure they are in a good mood, fed, give them a pep talk…and a giant lollipop always helps keeps there spirits high :) .

For anyone wanting to do this also I just got them dressed up, took some fun chairs out in the back yard and let them have fun while giving a little direction here and there.

Then you can upload them and add captions with whatever photo program you have. You can get prints done really cheap especially if you opt for “next day ready”. Pick them up and attach them to some card stock, tape a dum dum on the back or just give them as is. They are sure to be a treat for friends and family.
